Byzantium in Toronto submitted Description
The grand matriarch of the gay village just celebrated her 10th anniversary. Our celebrated martinis (officially the first martini bar in the city) and highly praised chef (Jerome Rivest) and our menu speak for themselves. On Fridays and Saturdays, after 11pm, the walls slide away creating one large funky lounge with some of the best DJ’s in the city spinning until 2am. In the summer, many of our patrons enjoy a breezy eve on our designer styled private rear patio.
James Chatto said “Byzantium is one of the places to get shaken or stirred in Canada”. The Toronto Star labeled our customers “Byz Boys”. But don’t be misled by labels. We pride ourselves on making everyone feel welcome. It shows in the great mix of our patrons…young, old, male, female, straight, gay, movie star or not. We are just a fun place with fabulous food and the best libations in the city. Come meet an old friend or make a new one.

Drinks at Byzantium
Byzantium was Toronto’s first official “Martini Bar”. Our extensive martini list is often imitated but never with the same flair or results as from our team of bartenders. With our wine list, we strive to offer diversity, quality, and some rare finds all at reasonable mark ups. Our goal is quality served up with panache. Enjoy!
