As everybody knows, the biggest trend over the past few months has been the high waist. We've seen it on shorts, pants and skirts all over the city ...but that means we've seen it done right and we've also seen it completely butchered.  Both of the ladies in this picture hit the nail on the head.  They both went easy on the accessories and let their outfits speak for themselves.  Many girls in the city who strive to achieve the perfect high waisted look miss the mark by adding distracting colours, accessories, hair, and makeup to the mix.  The necklines of their tops and the neutral colour palettes of their outfits earned these two a spot on this week's best dressed list.

This funky chick earned her spot on this list not only for her dress choice (which, by the way, is fantastic - the vibrant colour, the black detailing, the neckline, the length and the cut are all bang on), but MAN!... can she ever accessorize! The bulkyness of her wrapped chain bracelet gives the dress some edge and so does her oversized black ring. Her amazing short blonde hair also acts an accessory, helping to make her look trendy yet totally unique. Well done girl. We can't see her shoes... but we'll assume they're amazing.

A lot of people don't know the history about the clothes that they wear so here's a history lesson.

"A Southern California native born in 1945, Don Hardy revived a childhood determination to become a tattoo artist and underwent a tattoo apprenticeship while simultaneously receiving a B.F.A. degree in printmaking at the San Francisco Art Institute in 1967. Tattooing professionally since then, he developed the fine art potential of the medium with emphasis on its Asian heritage. In 1973 he lived in Japan, studying with a traditional tattoo master he was introduced to by his primary mentor in the medium, Sailor Jerry Collins of Honolulu. He resumed these studies in Japan throughout the 1980s. Since 1974 he pioneered the emphasis on unique tattoo commissions at his San Francisco studio.

Today Hardy is retired from doing actual tattoos, but oversees and mentors the artists at his San Francisco studio, Tattoo City. Since the 1980s, he has concentrated heavily on non-tattoo based art forms, especially printmaking, drawing and painting."
